LSPS_MAIL: Sending notifications to Mailhog

Tue Jan 31, 2017 5:02 pm

Utilizing the social feature set up in Liberty, I need to test email notifications. To do this I am trying to send notifications to Mailhog (https://github.com/mailhog/MailHog).

I've updated openejb.xml in embedded to port 8025 which is where Mailhog is listening. I am not getting any messages. I do notice, however, that when running local, the following error messages occur:

2017-01-31 09:32:08,100 WARNING service Property "mail.transport.protocol" not supported by "mail/LSPS_MAIL"
2017-01-31 09:32:08,100 WARNING service Property "mail.smtp.host" not supported by "mail/LSPS_MAIL"
2017-01-31 09:32:08,100 WARNING service Property "ServiceId" not supported by "mail/LSPS_MAIL"

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if more clarification is needed.

I'm currently running LSPS 3.1.1023, JDK 1.8.0_91

Regards,

Nick

This has been resolved.

As it turns out, Mailhog listens on port 1025 and the web app is on 8025. Once the openejb.xml file had been updated correctly, including having the host point to local it ran fine.
Settings:
mail.transport.protocol smtp
mail.smtp.host localhost
mail.smtp.port 1025
mail.from your@address

Earlier found error messages still exist, but do not affect the delivery of test emails.
